6m/4m rotator repair The top rotator clamp cracked under a very light load and had to be replaced before the contest start. Rob is using his Land Rover workbench to do this.

2m Mast assembly starts The mast used for 2m was 3 pieces of aluminium scaffold pole end to end. This view shows Simon G8ATB, John M3LKD, Steve G0DQQ working with Craig and Chairman Richard keeping watch for marauding Indians.

2m Mast assembly continues Same team attaches the gin pole to pull the mast up.

2m Mast assembly continues Test lift of the mast shows bends because the rigging is uneven. Retentioned the mast lifts straight. The Guys go to eight points eventually but during the lift the top set is attached to the end of the gin pole (Behind the camera)

2m Tent assembly With the 2m gin pole lattice showing above it assembly of the operators tent is in progress. Richard M0ESL (now), John and Rob G8XMZ.

2m Tent assembly - more Rob and John attach the tent front by laceing the attached loops. Supposedly a 30 minute job for 4 squaddies this tent seems to take us somewhat longer.

Mast up Gin pole being removed now that the mast is up.

Replacement 70cm station Simon G8ATB on the replacement 70cm tranceiver. The TS780 took ill and was producing next to no drive for the linear. The kitchen was in with 70cm to keep the operators' spirits up. 43 contacts in 24 hours!
