Verdin Grammar School was the second meeting place of MIDCARS after a small room in Oak House Farm on Swanlow Lane, Winsford. Now demolished.
From the same 1978 Winsford Chronicle page is a photo of the sveldt Dave G4CAX "ON THE AIR"
as G3ZTT.
He is pictured using the club's transmitter in Verdin Grammar School's Electrical Lab -
At the opposite end of the room to the photo above.
This was a demonstration put on for the local press.
The large box with 2 big dials is an ex GPO Wheatstone Bridge (Put there purely for show HI). In use is a transmitter made by G4HOD and used extensively in the early days of the club - Into a long wire antenna.
The "round thing" is a morse key mounted on a piece of slate.
The Verdin Grammar School's "Technical Activities Centre" was the club's meeting place from (earlier than) March 1969 until 1980 when the club amalgamated with the ICL Radio Club and moved to the ICL Sports and Social complex at Marton Park near Winsford.
This is G4CAX's Shack as used through Cycle 21.
The big image will show what equipment is in use.
This is cooking! burning a pig for a BBQ at Brians parents house in 1978. They stressed it should be well cooked.
Now carving the pig. Or what remains.
